The Junior League of Williamsport recognized two of its members as Women of the Year, at their May Annual Dinner meeting. The Award honors a member for her outstanding service to the Junior League and its volunteer endeavors. Earning the honor this year are Tammy Glaser, of Loyalsock Township and Lori Kraft, of Fairfield Township. Glaser was cited for her 8 active years of commitment to the organization where she served on various in League and community based volunteer placements, as well as two terms on the League's Board of Directors as Secretary and Membership Vice President. In Addition to her past Board experiences Tammy sat on and Chaired The Breast Health Walk Committee which disbursed over $45,000 to local organizations and individuals with breast health care needs. She has also been very instrumental in our annual Holiday Auction, which is the League's major fund raiser and our 75th Anniversary celebration. Tammy will be serving as President Elect of the League for 2004-2005 and President of the League in 2005-2006. As part of her training she will be a member of the Leadership Lycoming Class of 2005. Kraft was commended for her job as chairman of the Membership Development committee which recruits and trains incoming Junior League members. She developed a consolidated 3 month training session where members learn about the organization and community, while participating in leadership, team building and project development activities. These training sessions are offered twice a year for new members as well as information socials for those interested in learning about prospective membership. Kraft has also served on the League Board for one term as Membership Vice President, and one term on the Leagues Food Allergy Awareness Committee.
