MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
The Membership Development Committee engages potential new members in social gatherings and parties to introduce them to our noteworthy community projects and caring women of the Junior League. The committee strongly encourages every member to recommend associates and friends who may be interested in membership. Once a class has been formed, the committee trains the new provisionals in community and league affairs that will enable them to become quality active members.
PLACEMENT
The members of the Placement Committee shall act as advisors to the membership, responding to each member's needs and wants. The committee shall interview, allocate and keep records of the member's in-league and/or community placements.
The Placement Committee serves many functions, not the least of which is to individually assist each league member in making her league year productive, interesting, and satisfying. Placement also helps each member to coordinate and evaluate her career in the League through her individual plan.
NOMINATING
The nominating committee shall nominate trained members to fill League positions and choose delegates to attend conferences, workshops, or other training opportunities. The committee uses interest sheets and the Straw Ballot to present the slate of elected officers to the membership.
COMMUNITY RESEARCH/PUBLIC AFFAIRS
To research/study the needs of the community and the Junior League of Williamsport, to periodically review our focus area and to present projects for consideration by the general membership as needed. To initiate, review and approve/disapprove Community Opportunity Grant requests. (If a grant is approved, funds are dispersed and there is follow-up to ensure the funds are properly used and that the JLW is recognized.)
This committee may also follow local and state affairs. Presentations to the membership are highly encouraged if it is felt the League should be educated and/or should take a role in the issue.
COMMUNICATIONS
The Communications Committee informs the League and the community of the JLW activities through the monthly publications of the Leaglet. The Leaglet is designed to keep members well informed of the on-going work of the League, its social events, meeting times and locations, and information from AJLI and Area II. Some of the responsibilities of the committee are: review and editing of Leaglet articles, forwarding of articles to the typesetter, solicitation of advertising for the purpose of covering all expenses incurred in the production of the Leaglet.
PUBLIC RELATIONS/MARKETING COMMITTEE
This committee shall be responsible to cultivate media relationships and update a media database and kits. They will collaborate with other league committees to establish additional marketing packets or kits for corporate sponsors, community partners, Advisory Board members, Government officials, and for the recruiting of potential members.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE
This committee's role is to plan, supervise, and provide
the league with educational opportunities which meets
its needs and interests by utilizing the members own
skills and abilities whenever possible. Educational

PROJECTS-IN-A-DAY
Through their assessment of the opportunities and needs within our community, this committee
implements and develops one day projects that offer
benefits to the people in our area. The committee is
responsible for coordinating league involvement in
those projects (as they deem appropriate) via individual
volunteers and/or cross-functioning with other
committees.
INCOME DEVELOPMENT
The committee manages the League's two fundraisers: Sally Foster and the Holiday Auction; the ongoing development of the Endowment Fund; and the sales of the cookbook.
FINANCE
The purpose of the Finance Committee is to train members in the detailed financial management of the League, while at the same time adhering to sound accounting practice in the areas of investing and maintenance of records. The Finance Committee is responsible for preparing the League's annual budget, overseeing the investments, and assisting the League in its formulation of financial policies. Chair responsibilities include preparing a monthly financial report, maintaining publications, records and the Chair notebook, writing the Annual Report by April 30th, and all other responsibilities as described in the Chairman's notebook.
